Enable a disabled Outlook addin by registry key

If you need to re-enable an outlook addin this can often be done by setting the relevant registry ‘Loadbehaviour’ key to 3

In the case of FileChimp you will locate the key here (other addins would be very similar). The example shown below is a 64 Bit Windows 7 installation. If you are running 32 bit windows 7 please omit the Wow6432node.

Go to start and type ‘regedit’ and press enter

Expand the registry to locate the following key –

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\FileChimp.OutlookAddin.FileChimpAddin

Double click the LoadBehavior key and set its value to 3

Restart Outlook
